The Matisse Museum, a national museum, is housed in a 17th century Genoese villa, surrounded by a large tree-filled garden. It has one of the world's largest collection of Henri Matisse's works, many donated by the artist and his family. Matisse lived in Cimiez the last half of his life and is buried here.
