Set against the backdrop of harbor dry docks, Strand Pauli on the banks of the Elbe River draws a highly diverse crowd with its straw-thatched umbrellas, deck chairs and imported sand. It even has a beach playground for the kiddies. The big attraction is its beach club, open until midnight. It's a 10-minute walk from the Reeperbahn but closed in some winter months.
