The Stadthausquai river pool has long existed as a public bath for women only, built as part of the 19th century Seeuferanlage promenades. Art nouveau in style and with a view of the old town, the 112-foot (34-meter) pool is a relaxed daytime spot for lounging with a small library and snack bar onsite. Three nights a week, it becomes the Barfussbar (Bare Foot Bar), which does admit men. Open May to September, it may occasionally be closed due to weather.
