Possessed of a unique history - it was towed to its present location by barge in the late 1970s - the Old Harbor Life Saving Station and Museum traces the history of life-saving techniques like Lyle guns and breech buoys. A charming boardwalk leading to the museum is lined with educational displays touting the heroism of past lifeguards, and staff will occasionally reenact lifesaving methods on the water. The museum is only open in July and August, but admission is free.
