Nestled between the zoo, the train tracks and the Landwehrkanal, the Schleusenkrug is a biergarten with an illustrious history. Since before the second world war, the Fister family served beer from a kiosk where the restaurant stands today and somehow managed to finagle a restaurant right on the fault line of East and West Germany. Today its a harmonious terrace visited by Berliners, tourists and the occasional DJ or live music act.
