Once the residence of Tom Jobim, the Bossa Nova composer who wrote Garota de Ipanema, Bonita Hostel is just three blocks from the beach and one block from the metro station. Colorful and lively, this may not be the best place to drop your bags if you are looking for a quiet corner to read a book, but definitely an upgrade to the hostels nearby. Reasonable prices for one of Rio's prime locations.
