The oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, San Telmo is the city's bohemian enclave, a multicultural neighborhood with immigrant roots and its origins as the working class home of 17th century dockworkers and brick makers. Here, colonial buildings line cobblestone streets, filled with antique shops, art galleries, old churches, cafés and tango parlors. On lively Sundays, a weekly antiques market takes over Calle Defensa with hundreds of stalls.

Every Sunday you can go to the market and by some souvenirs. It's not the safest place to be at night.
